The official currency of Mexico is the Mexican peso ($ MXN). It is issued in bills of $ 20, $ 50, $ 100, $ 200, $ 500 and $ 1000; and coins of $ 0.10, $ 0.20, $ 0.50 cents and $ 1.00, $ 2.00, $ 5.00, $ 10.00 and $ 20.00 pesos. The use of national and international credit and debit cards is also widespread.
The city and port of Veracruz is home to numerous branches of major national and international banks such as Banorte, Citibanamex, Banco Azteca, National Bank of Mexico, BBVA Bancomer, HSBC, Santander, Scotiabank and BanRegio, mainly located near the Veracruz Bus Station on Av. Salvador Díaz Mirón and in the Historical Center. Most with a schedule of 9:00 to 16:00 hours from Monday to Friday. Some operate on Saturdays.
